BASIC OBEDIENCE
The Foundation of all Dog Training
Whether you decide that you want to hang out, go for walks, snuggle, or get involved in doing canine sports such as Agility or Fast CAT, basic on-leash dog training is the foundation for everything you want to do.
It doesn’t matter what age or breed your dog is, we will help you teach your dog how to behave appropriately at home or on-the-go, while at the same time, building a positive and happy relationship together.
Group classes or individualized training
Small classes, 6 - 7 dogs in most classes
Daytime & evening schedule
Each class lasts one full hour
Black Dog Training is conveniently located just off U.S. Highway 45, at Washington County Fair Park & Conference Center. Classes are held in the Ziegler Exposition Center.

Stop pulling on a leash
Have a pleasant and leisurely walk with your dog. No one enjoys walking with a dog who constantly pulls!
Sit, down, and stay!
Basic skills every dog should know how to do, both inside the home and outside in the community.
Wait at the door
Learn how to stop your dog from dashing to your guests or rushing through doors to make a quick exit.
Come when called
One of the most important exercises you can teach your dog. It could save his life!
Bonding
Developing a connection with your dog is essential. Relationship-building exercises are fostered.
Impulse control
Teaching your dog self-control comes in handy when there's a tempting beef roast on the kitchen counter!

Puppy Obedience
The Puppy program gets you and your pup off to a good start! Our Beginner class will teach dogs basic skills of sit, down, stay, but more importantly, it will address problem areas such as coming when called, leash-pulling, jumping up on guests, and waiting at the door. Intermediate and beyond will build on the basic skills.
